I AM YOUR PROTECTOR

The Tesla Group worked on the initial launch of the “I Am Your Protector” mobile activation campaign which took place in October 2015 throughout key locations in Manhattan. The I.A.Y.P branded truck had a custom 80 inch polarized screen installed on it displaying posters of “protectors” that were only visible through special glasses distributed. Brand ambassadors invited people to learn about the campaign’s mission and provided premiums to those in support of the campaign.

On Wednesday, January 27th, I AM YOUR PROTECTOR will honor International Holocaust Remembrance Day at Washington Square Park from 5-6pm.

International Holocaust Remembrance Day is the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. The UN General Assembly has designated January 27th to be the official commemoration date, and urges every member state to honor the victims of the Nazi era and to develop educational programs to help prevent future genocides.

I AM YOUR PROTECTOR is a community of people who have created a campaign in order to speak up and stand up for each other across religion, race, gender, and beliefs. Seeking to expose stories that are rarely exposed, the campaign counters the misperceptions that often depicts the “other” as an enemy. On their official website iamyourprotector.org, stories and images of those who have protected other individuals around the world are shown to showcase the campaign’s message.

The Living Theatre will perform and direct a public theatre performance. The performance will show a reenactment of testimonials of unknown protectors during the Holocaust from various religious backgrounds, and feature a spotlight on Muslim Protectors. An interfaith prayer will follow and will be led by leaders of varying religious backgrounds to honor those that protected in the past and those that deal with discrimination today. Rabbi Yehuda Sarna and Imam Khalid Latif will be guest speakers at the event that will conclude with a unifying candle lighting.
