Country Floors 2nd Annual Tile Design Challenge Winner Announced
Country Floors held their 2nd Annual Design Challenge Award Ceremony with NYC&G Magazine, to benefit Housing Works NYC on April 27th at the beautiful Country Floors Manhattan Showroom located at 15 East 16th st.
Country Floors announced Minh Lai’s as the 2017 winner of the tile design challenge with New York Cottages & Gardens. Minh Lai is a graduate student at the New York School Of Interior Design currently pursuing a masters in Interior Lighting Design. "A great design, is a pleasing balance of all its parts whether it is a balance of between different materials, colors of furniture forms". -Minh Lai.
Minh Lai chose an eclectic non-traditional use of patterns to design a luxury bathroom using a combination of Country Floors Talya and Barcela Collection.
The 2nd Annual Tile Design Challenge allowed New York interior designers and architects an opportunity to digitally design a luxury kitchen or bathroom. All designs included a Country Floors title collection or collections. This years top three finalists included Diego Varas, Minh Lai and Kareen Borgella who is known for her previous fashion collection K.Borgella and as the technical design for Armoni Exchange for many years.
This year’s judges included celebrity interior designer Jarret Yoshida, NYC&G Editor in Chief Kendell Cronstrom, Country Floors Product Designer Omar Torres and Interior Design Society NYC Chapter President Julie Schuster.
Other highlights from the event included violinist Luisa Bastidas who played contemporary pop music hits on her Violin, beautiful Grecian style appetizers and with Country Floors newly re-designed showroom that mimics a museum, guest enjoyed taking photos with the displayed tiles on the walls and floors using the hashtag, #thisthingihavewithfloors.
