#TTGWEDS Healthy Mind
What comes to 'mind' when you think of health? Your immune
system, making sure to get that work out in, what about making sure you consume your daily dose of greens
and kale? Well, yes that all will help keep you healthy, but what about the
power source? Yeah, I know that is one thing we seem to sometimes forget about,
ironic, right?
Since May is National Mental Health Month, its only right that TTG is here to offer some help! We have some tips on how you can
keep your mind performing at its best and thinking clearly. Most of which involves some needed 'me' time! You can also head over to Instagram and
support mental health month with others by hash-tagging #HereForYou.
Set aside 30 mins of the day to take some time for yourself
and meditate. Think of it like your lunch break for your mind and soul. By dong this, it will improve your ability to you focus better. Maybe, just maybe, you’ll even be able to finish that paper or proposal
you’re been starting at for hours!
Avocados, spinach, broccoli, asparagus and beetroot, yes please! These
green colored foods are full of antioxidants that will help improve your focus,
problem – solving, memory and make you feel all sorts of good. They are also known for slowing down the
aging process in your brain (now thats impressive)!
Yoga’s (many) benefits
A proven way to free your mind of all things negative. Yoga
allows you to work with the nature of your mind and connect with the emotions you are
feeling. It's a proven way to boost any of those negative thoughts that may
be taking over your mind and push them out into the universe. Far, far, far away from you (positive vibes only). If you're looking for some tips and maybe even an awesome yoga mat, check out Dr. Emily Splichal's NABOSO technology Barefoot Training Mat!
Put a pin to your skin
The thought might seem terrifying, but it turns out its actually the total opposite. It's relaxing. Acupuncture is proven to help calm anxiety and relieve insomnia. It also helps balance out the energy in our body, which is a total body booster! You can make an appointment with Dr. Emily Kiberd's at her Urban Wellness Clinic in NYC.
They really are our best friends
They are, but our cute little furry best friends offer us a lot more than we think. Dogs are a great way to help clear your mind and relieve stress and anxiety. Your four legged friend will always be there to listen, so talk away they won't judge! If you can't get a dog of your own feel free to go to a pet store, or the park. Strangers are more than willing to usually let you pet their dogs, and its a great way to socialize as well. Just make sure you ask before, you don't want to be accused of dog-napping!
