“When I tried on the Flyte Collection, my first impression was how light and comfortable the shoes
are! Being a ballerina and living in NYC, I spend a majority of my day on my feet, always on the go, or in my pointe shoes, dancing up to 8 hours a day. These shoes are a must have for any woman on
the go!” -Alison Stroming, Professional Dancer
December 4-8 will mark the official “Flyte Week,” where LISSOM will be producing a Flyte Collection photoshoot with Stroming in NYC. The principles of mindful movement have been embedded into a simple, beautiful shoe. Going beyond comfort; small innovations and adjustments have been incorporated to create a shoe you’ll never want to take off, one that’s light, flexible and gently encourages conscious steps.
The brand’s purpose is to inspire women to move mindfully, therefore strengthening the body and soul. The shoe allows you to connect with the ground better. Welcoming the floor and strengthening your core provides you with greater stability and balance. The shoe is designed to be unstructured,
super light and very flexible, enabling you to move more freely and wholly in line with the foot’s natural movement.
How you move is as important as where you’re heading; feel the joy of movement.

Miss South Africa, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, Wins Miss Universe 2017
After three (long) (but beautiful) hours of pageant histrionics, host Steve Harvey crowned 22 year-old Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, Miss South Africa, as our 2017 Miss Universe. Out of 92 finalists - the largest group ever of contestants to compete for the title - Nel-Peters won one of the four preliminary judge-awarded finalist spots awarded to contestants from her part of the globe (the somewhat amorphous "Africa & Asia Pacific" region), and remained a clear front-runner throughout the live broadcast, from swimsuit round to "final look," not to mention both of the tricky Q&A rounds now incorporated into the pageant. During the show, Nel-Peters also shared the story of being carjacked on the night she was crowned Miss South Africa (her phone was stolen, but thankfully not her crown!), and how she channeled the trauma into running self-defense programs for young women in her country.

How the White House, America's Home, Gets Decorated for the Holidays
Today, amid an indoor forest of faux snow-covered trees, First Lady Melania Trump debuted the White House's annual holiday decorations. The theme is "Timed-Honored Traditions," and the mansion's many rooms are filled with odes to presidents past: table settings from Ronald Reagan, set up for Christmas dinner in the China Room; President Roosevelt's 2866 edition of A Christmas Carol in the Library; a "Nutcracker Suite" in the Grand Hall - an ode to Jackie Kennedy's decorations in 1961. However, among all this old is some new: A Christmas tree in the East Wing, dedicated to service members and their families, included iPads where visitors can write messages to soldiers overseas.
