Jersey City Medical Center (JCMC), and our client United Rescue, will receive the prestigious EMS 10: Innovators in EMS award. JCMC and United Rescue will be awarded for their life-saving contributions to the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) community. JCMC and United Rescue will be recognized by Journal of Emergency Medical Services (JEMS) with support from Physic-Control Inc. as the top innovators who have driven EMS practice to a higher level in 2015.

United Rescue volunteers, also known as Community Based Emergency Caregivers (CBECs), have a partnership with Jersey City Medical Center and have been certified and equipped to respond to 911 medical calls. Each volunteer is linked to a dispatch system using a GPS-based mobile app called NowForce. CBECs are dispatched through the app when an emergency call is received, and arrive by foot, bicycle, e-bike, or ambucycle (a medically equipped motorcycle), within three minutes to begin treatment while an ambulance arrives.

The eighth annual EMS 10 Awards Ceremony will take place during the 2016 EMS Today Conference & Exposition on Wednesday, February 24th with cocktail reception beginning at 5:30pm and ceremony starting at 6:30pm. The event will be located at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore Inner Harbor (located at 300 light St., Baltimore, MD 21202).
