#TTGSparked with Antonino Buzzetta

We recently chatted up a storm with one of our absolute favorite Interior Designers, Antonino Buzzetta. In this weeks #TTGSparked, the New York native talked design inspirations, personal style and Country Floors stunning new tile collection..

What made you decide to become an Interior Designer? Did you know early on that this would be your career path?
Growing up in New York I have always been inspired by art, fashion and good design so naturally I pursued a career in the culmination of all three. I moved to Chicago to attend design school at 18 and have been running full speed ever since. Like every other designer I know, I was constantly rearranging my room as a child... and I haven't stopped yet!

What has been one of your biggest career highlights?
One of my career highlights actually happened in the beginning of it, I had the privilege of working with Juan Pablo Molyneux. It was an honor and a pleasure as his work is simply phenomenal. More recently, I just wrapped up a design job with Elle Decor for award-winning actress Emmy Rossum. It should hit the new stands shortly, so keep your eyes peeled!

How would you describe your signature  interior design style?
I like to think that my design style is a sexy blend of glamour and sophistication; its classic, yet timeless, bold & daring and I'm a sucker for geometric patterns. Incorporating them into my designs just feeds my soul.

What about your style in terms of fashion and what you wear?
The same goes for my personal style - I'd wear a suit made out of grocery bags if it was designed by Tom Ford!

There’s quite a lot of shoe designers showing at this seasons Fashion Week. Shoes come in all shapes, sizes and patterns - if a shoe designer wanted to create a runway using tile, what tips can you provide using tiles?
To be fair, the focus should be on the shoe but who says we can't help amp up the energy for the model?!  Regarding the shoe style, it should be complimented by a tile of the same manner.  For example, if a designer were showcasing, say, some fabulous black patent leather heels, why not incite more drama with patterns from the Country Floors Barcela collection?  The honed Ingot and Chevron tiles are simple amazing and would make for a very sexy runway.

What are the best tile patterns to use so a shoe designer can ensure their new collection isn't overshadowed?
The best tile pattern for a new collection should come from the Contemporary Collections. Country Floor's broad selection allows one to design a chic geometric pattern while create a harmonious look that would make for the perfect backdrop without stealing the show.

Lights, camera, action! What tiles would provide an added ambiance when coming down the runway?
For extra ambiance, tiles from the Country Floors Moresque Collection would make for an exquisite path, whether it's stylized patterns or intricate mosaics, they are the showcasing pedestals.

What tiles would you use to create a more cultured vibe on the runway for a ethnic-inspired collection?
For a more worldy runway, the Pompeii Flower Honed Mosaic Limestone tile from the Country Floors Baba Chic collection would set the pulse for the show. It's bold box border would be the brawn to the beauty of its encased flower. Use the Pompeii Pleat tile to contain all the character of the runway, like that of a very chic ankle strap.
