Our Cinco de Mayo Friday Round-Up: 5/5

Happy Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo has arrived here in NYC, and just in time for happy hour! There are endless places to venture off to with your amigos in the city, and this holiday is the perfect excuse to do so. TTG is here to help you find the hot spots this Cinco de Mayo, and help you find the perfect outfit as well. I know, I know we are a Cinco de Mayo lifesaver.

So, get ready to eat, drink and celebrate with tacos, tequila shots, guacamole and of course sombreros!

Set sail this Cinco de Mayo

If you interested in a little bit more of a Cinco de Mayo that involves the open water, try the Cinco De Mayo Booze Cruise by Empire Cruises. You’ll be able to enjoy a top-shelf open bar, live DJ, and of course the beautiful New York skyline. The cruise lasts about two hours and sails around the Statue of Liberty. The ship will depart at 8:30 p.m., so don’t be late! For tickets and more info check out EmpireCruises.

Dos Caminos

This Mexican chain is getting ready for some Cinco de Mayo fun. They will offer specials all day long on May 5 for all you foodie lovers. As well as drink specials. But that’s not all they are offering. They know everyone likes to party a little bit on this festive day. So, they will have DJ’s, giveaways, samples and swag bags at each of their locations.

‘Big-gulp’ margarita style

Bodega Negra, located in the chic Dream Downtown Hotel, Bodega Negra is getting their margaritas ready. From mini-margaritas to ‘big gulp’ style margaritas with a bottle of corona topped inside the glass, you’re sure have a good time. And maybe even asking for one more, por favor!

We (taco)ing fashion

Cinco de Mayo isn’t just about all the chips and guacamole you can eat. It’s also about embracing those bold colors and festive styles. Just think bohemian prints, embroidery, fringe and color!

You can opt for an off the shoulder dress in a bright color. That way it’s simple, but still will give you that touch of fiesta spirit. Pair it with one of your favorite gladiator or decretive sandals. If it’s still a little chilly out, you can pair flared printed pants with an eyelet top.
