Weekend Warrior

Happy Friday everyone, but more importantly, Happy National Fast Food Day! That's right, today, the 16th of November, is the day we officially celebrate all food fast, furious and delicious! Although we girls here in the TTG offices are trying to save ourselves for some Thanksgiving feasting, there's nothing wrong with a cheeky treat or two along the way. And sure, it's more of an excuse to hit that gym session a little bit harder next week!

One gal who knows all about training hard is our very own girl boss and rising tennis star, Sonya Kenin. Sonya, who just turned 20 (yes, only 20!) on Wednesday has been owning it both on and off the court.

As we mentioned a couple of weeks ago, Sonya, from Pembroke Pines in Florida, discovered her passion for tennis at the very young age of 5. From National Junior Tournaments to the US Open, her sporting journey has been only uphill since then!

Turning professional in 2017 and finishing off the year as #108 in the WTA singles rankings, today, Sonya stands at #52, rising up at a remarkable speed, and she shows no signs of stopping! Just two weeks ago, sports clothing company FILA announced it was signing a sponsorship deal with the tennis sensation, saying she is "poised to become one of the next rising stars in women's tennis". Sonya will be among a select number of endorsed WTA and ATP World Tour players who wear the FILA brand on-court!

To top it off, just last weekend Sonya made her Fed Cup Final debut, representing the USA in Prague. After a sterling performance from Kenin, she narrowly lost to the Czech Republic's Barbora Strycova. If the fact she was chosen to be on the US Fed Cup Final team at just 19 years of age isn't enough to blow your mind, Sonya was just three when Strycova made her Fed Cup debut back in 2002...! To sum it up pretty much. our gal Sonya is killin' the game at the moment and we couldn't be happier! Check out her Instagram for day-to-day updates on her life both on and off the court.
