But of course, with all things in New York City, where do you even start? It seems every post and article you read is mentioning some new holiday themed bar you just HAVE TO check out!

1) Rolf's, 281 3rd Avenue, Manhattan
Adorned with 15,000 Christmas ornaments and 10,000 lights, Rolf's German bar in Murray Hill definitely tops the list of must see bars to get you in the holiday spirit. With a line snaking around the corner a regular sight, making a reservation is essential to save you the long wait in the cold!

2) Donner and Blitzen's Reindeer lounge, 224 Franklin St, Brooklyn
Three fireplaces, quirky quilts and cocktails such as Elf Nog and Rudolph's So Bitter, this Greenpoint bar has become the ultimate reindeer-themed getaway with floor-to-ceiling Christmas trees and a candy-cane wall, perfect for your Instagram pics! And with the lounge's weekday happy hour offering $5 whiskey shots and $10 mulled wine, this is not one to be missed. 

3) Miracle on 9th, 649 E 9th St, Manhattan
This is the 5th year this Christmas-themed pop-up bar has docked in New York. Serving holiday cocktails in a Christmas setting, Miracle claims it can get "even the grouchiest grinch in the holiday spirit"! Expect colorful strings of bulbs, plush Santa gear and holiday themed mugs, and a myriad of themed cocktails such as a Snowball Old Fashioned and the Christmas Carol Barrel!

4) Ophelia, 3 Mitchell Place, Manhattan 
For the winter months, this cocktail lounge at the top of the Beekman Tower in Midtown East has completely transformed itself to resemble a shimmering snow globe, complete with crystal garlands and sparkling snowflakes. so grab a drink from the extensive seasonal cocktail menu, sit back and enjoy the view from the 26th floor overlooking the city.   

5) 230 Fifth, 230 Fifth Avenue (no surprise there!)
During the summer this rooftop is a popular hangout for evening drinks lounging in the sun, however, it doesn't let the cold Manhattan months stop it from serving up some of the best cocktails in Nomad. From November to May, 230 Fifth transforms into an igloo bar, with transparent igloo huts you can enjoy the city skyline from, while sipping on some festive boozy concoctions such as Apple Pie Cider and Godiva Peppermint Hot Chocolate. And if you're still feeling a bit nippy, grab one of their complimentary red robes!
