TTG Round Up: Golden Globe Awards Edition
Awards season is upon us once again, with the 2019 Golden Globes officially kicking them off for the 76th year on Sunday night. And although this year's ceremony, which took place in the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, may not have been the most exciting, with some critics dubbing it 'lacklustre' and even 'boring', the night had it's fair share of moments that sent Twitter into a flurry, from Fiji Girl to Sandra Oh's parents' reaction when she won the award for Best Actress in a TV Drama.
However, the Golden Globe red carpet is known by many fashion fans (your TTG Girl Gang included!), as one where incredible looks are the norm and this year's carpet did not disappoint. With some time to agree among ourselves, we have finally whittled down our favorite looks into out top five. From eye catching wonders to breaking the fashion barriers, here they are.
1) Lady Gaga
L. Gaga has secured top place in this breathtaking pale blue number from Valentino Haute Couture. Resembling the dress worn by Cinderella herself, her dress was perfectly paired with Giuseppe Zanotti platforms and Tiffany accessories.
2) Lili Reinhart
Relatively new on the big time red carpet scene, with this being her first Golden Globes ceremony, Riverdale star Lili Reinhart really stole the show in this gorgeous red tulle dress from Khyeli Couture. With matching crimson makeup and Swarovski jewelry, Lili was on fire!
3) Billy Porter
Need we say more. Porter OWNED the red carpet in this custom suit and cape by Randi Rahm. And just when you thought it couldn't get any better, hidden beneath his cape is a pair of matching pink Gucci loafers. Dreamy.
4) Kiki Layne
If you have ever wondered what happens if you put three people to work on 65 meters of tulle in the Dior atelier flou for 350 hours, then here you have it. This marvelous Dior creation worn by Kiki was the perfect balance between sweet and daring. Paired with this Bulgari diamanté choker, this look was unanimously selected for our top 5 by the TTG girls.
5) Saoirse Ronan
Irish beauty Saoirse Ronan dazzled in this mesmerizing plunging silver chainmail halter gown created by Gucci paired with vintage-like chandelier earrings and simple hair and makeup.
